Bodie Historic Park, CA

Bodie, which dates back to the 1880 Gold Rush period, is a genuine ghost town located close to the Nevada border, near Lee Vining. In 1879 it had a population of 10000, killings were common, and it was known for having the "worst climate out of doors." Today it is being maintained by the State in its original decayed condition. It is a great location for photography.

Bodie General Store

The buildings in Bodie are all intact but closed, so I had to take this image through a window with my Leica M6/21mm lens flat against the glass to eliminate reflections.

Shanico Hotel, OR

Taken in winter with Nikon F2/24mm. The hotel was closed for the season.

Yaquina Bay Lighthouse, OR

This is the second oldest standing lighthouse on the Oregon Coast (1871-1874). It is also one of the few with living quarters right in the same building as the tower and haunted by a legendary ghost. Taken with my Leica M6/21mm lens.

Soda Fountain, Port Townsend, WA

Located on the Cape Fear River across from Wilmington, NC, the restored WWII Battleship North Carolina is a primary tourist attraction. This image was taken with a Leica M6/21mm lens handheld at f/4.0.
